High in the mountains of Indonesian island of Flores, a jungle village, Wae Rebo, sleeps in the valley below dense clouds. Two local sellers gaze at their land, surrounded by traditional Mbaru Niang houses, tall and conical in shape. I visited this remote village a few years ago and still remember the feeling of sleeping in a traditional hut, waking up to the clouds, mountains and peace. It's a place where time seems to slow down, where people live exactly as their ancestors lived a thousand years ago.

“Volcanic Lake”
18 x 24 “, oil on linen, 2024
At dawn, Mount Rinjani casts its colossal shadow across the crater lake like a sleeping giant. Its peak flames orange, and the lake shimmers purple. The hike had drained every ounce of mental and physical energy, leaving me with only the capacity to stare in awe. I asked my guide, “Why do locals keep coming back to this grueling climb?”. He answered, “We come to see the ever-changing face of the mountain. It's never the same.”
“Castle made of Sand”
20 x 24 “, oil on canvas, 2023
In the heart of Asia Minor, Turkey, Uchisar Castle gleams gold and purple. This tallest fairy chimney can be seen from all over Cappadocia Valley. In December, when the air is crisp and fresh, and the sky is clear blue, a gentle blanket of snow covers the ancient sandstone.
“Sunrise over Komodo”
20 x 24 “, oil on canvas, 2022
Days after sailing the Indian Ocean and hopping through the Komodo Islands, I saw the peaks of Pagar Island in the distance. In August, the rising sun washed the naked mountain peaks in flaming red, transforming its near-barren landscape into an almost surreal vista.

“Koi Fish”
12 x 12 “, oil on canvas, 2020
Fascinated with all things oriental, the world of ponds have always captivated me. Tranquility of still water and quite life of its inhabitants is something I can observe for hours. This painting depicts koi fish in the pond of local market in Thailand.
“The Pond”

In one of the charming houses in my Singapore neighbourhood, there's a large clay pot filled with water lilies. I pass by it several times a day and always stop to admire the pond. The water lilies look especially vibrant under the midday sun and after a rain shower, appearing particularly lush and glossy.
“Water Lilies”
12 x 12 “, oil on canvas, 2022
This painting depicts water lilies in one of Singapore's open ponds. It's incredible how such a diverse array of plants and colors can thrive in a single water reservoir. Nature has created a perfect complementary palette that requires no alteration.
