About
A contemporary oil painter exploring the diverse landscapes and cultures of Asia, merging modern impressions with traditional materials in her Singapore studio.
“I'm always seeking to capture the essence of the places I visit and the spirit of the communities that inhabit them.”
HOW IT STARTED
My artistic journey began early, around 3 or 4 years old, with watercolors.
I've always been fascinated by the natural world and have been painting and drawing since I can remember. Most of my childhood in Russia was spent in a studio, where I painted landscapes, animals, and insects. By the age of 10, I had participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and many of my works were sold.
However, my interest in oil painting didn't develop until my late 20s when I moved to Southeast Asia.
“It was then, while traveling through SEA region and witnessing breathtaking scenes for the first time—the jungles, the ocean, mountains, and diverse cultures —that I felt a rush to capture those incredibly vibrant colours in all their lushness and density.”
Forever fascinated by all things oriental.
Wherever I go, my sketchbook is with me. It's my way of experiencing the world, capturing the moment on paper in colour.
